Los Angeles native. Brooklyn resident. Chris or Christopher, as you like.
I used to design concert visuals and edit music videos for a living. For the last several years I have worked as a commercial director, both for TV spots and online. Some of my work has won awards. One of my spots was shown in Times Square. I hope people still watch commercials because sometimes they’re not such bad stories.
I direct productions big or small, scripted or not, so long as what we’re doing aims to crack your heart and open your mind. I like to get my hands dirty, I’ll shoot or edit when needed. I rather like the physicality of roaming with a camera for hours on end, struggling to keep my arms steady. If I can capture a fleeting moment through this sort of grit and instinct, I think that’s pretty special.
I also write screenplays and short stories, which in many cases have nothing to do with my advertising niche. I find sci-fi in particular to be a form of modern philosophy. I continue to find ways to marry these somewhat incongruous halves of my life.
In the meantime, let’s talk about something interesting and go make it happen.
